Why Arlington? Why Now?
Arlington is one of the few places in the country with the infrastructure required to create a dense, walkable, equitable community. Generations ago our County Leaders gave us mass transit that gives us the opportunity to densify a small portion of Arlington to support the entire community by increasing housing, reducing rent, and increasing wages.
PRIORITIES
Affordable Housing
Access to safe and affordable housing is a fundamental right. I will advocate for policies that address housing affordability and homelessness, ensuring that every individual and family has a place to call home. By addressing administrative, cultural, and legal barriers, we can make Arlington the destination for new housing development in the DMV.
Public Transit
Reliable and frequent public transportation is the key to keeping cars off the street and giving Arlingtonians access to better paying jobs for minimal cost. I will prioritize investing in our public transit services.
Police Force
Our police force is the key asset that keeps our community safe. In a political era where national politics increasingly present real threats to our citizens, my goal is to ensure our police have the resources they need to protect us from all threats, both illegal and authoritarian.
Economic Development
DOGE sent an unprecedented shock through Arlington's economy only comparable to COVID. We need to leverage our most valuable asset, an incredibly deep pool of human capital, to diversify our economy away from the Federal Government.
Empowering Education
I am dedicated to developing policies that ensure every child has access to a world-class education, regardless of their background or zip code. To that end, I want to ban cell phones at schools, not just during school hours, but during all school sanctioned events, such as extracurriculars. Learning how to engage with your peers is a critical step in social development that we are allowing big tech firms to rob from our children for a few extra dollars a day.
Climate Change
Arlington cannot solve climate change on its own. The best we can do is build our communities to be efficient, so they use fewer single occupancy vehicles and more mass transit or other commute options. My goals of densifying our communities and making it more walkable will help us reduce our per person pollution.
